Summer Vacation 2009

We were able to squeeze a summer vacation in before Maddie starts Kindergarten and Mason starts preschool. It was a quick trip to San Antonio, and we had a GREAT time. The kids love the Wiggles, and Fiesta Texas in San Antonio has the "Wiggles World". We braved 103 degree days to "wiggle to our left, wiggle to our right, wiggle and wiggle with all of our might". We also spent time at the Fiesta Texas water park, which was a lot of fun. We stayed at the Westin La Cantera resort, and they have a Kid Zone area with inflatable water slides, bounce houses, etc. The kids LOVED it. They also have several pools, and we spent the majority of our time there. It was a really fun trip. The kids had a great time on the road, as well. We took our time and stopped frequently...in Austin, Gruene, and a few eating breaks. Our apologies to the people seated below us at the Gristmill restaraunt in Gruene, where Maddie's flip flop landed after she kicked it off during lunch!

At the state capital building in Austin. Maddie and Mason had a little history lesson. They were impressed, let me tell you!

At one of our favorite stops in Texas...Gruene and the Gristmill restaraunt.

At our hotel. It was beautiful...we were really impressed.

The "Kid Zone" at our hotel. They had cotton candy and lots of stuff to do.

Each night at the hotel, they have s'mores around the campfire. The kids loved it.

Wiggles World at Fiesta Texas.

The view from our room.

Maddie was a big help, keeping Mason from doing the "high dive" from our balcony into the pool!
